Maps of World War II provides an overview of WWII through a collection of high resolution maps that present the battles and campaigns fought in the various theatres of war. The material is organized by theatre, in roughly chronological order. Most of these maps present strategic or operational level information ranging in detail from army group to army to corps to divisional. Some of the maps offer tactical level information. Topographical information is provided on some of the maps.
This selection of maps gives the student of military history an appreciation of the military and political situation at various significant moments in the conflict. The maps are mainly intended for educational purposes and are freely available for reproduction for fair use purposes, such as student essays, provided the source is cited. Maps of World War II strives to provide accurate and complete maps but the material is provided "as-is" and the site offers no warranties on the accuracy or completeness of the material provided.
